Provider. However, many people are abandoning their ISP mail accounts for web based mail.
The reasons for doing so are as follows:
- You don’t have to be at your own computer... you can
send and receive mail from any computer in the world.
- Anyone can have their own web-based e-mail account. For
example, five people sharing and ISP account can each have their own Web-based e-mail
account.
- You will no longer be tied down to a particular ISP due to
not wanting to change your e-mail address. With web-based e-mail, you e-mail address can
be the same for life, regardless of how many times you switch ISPs.
The only problem with web-based e-mail is that you HAVE TO
access it through the Internet and, as a result, you cannot browse through previously
retrieved e-mail while off-line. Therefore, for the best of both worlds, get web based
mail and pay them a small fee (usually $25 per year) to be able to download all of your
mail to your e-mail client program on your computer (MS Express, Eudora, etc.).
