Wisechoice offers flexible and customizable school filtering solutions for conventional school settings or for the newer cyber school format offering distance and home based learning environments. Our filtering is fully CIPA (Child Internet Protection Act) compliant. Wisechoice not only can be configured to block internet pornography but also can be customized with 23 filtering categories including such problematical areas as chat and instant messaging, filesharing sites to block such sites as Kazaa, game sites, lingerie and numerous others. Each system can be further configured for different groups such as tighter controls for small children etc.

Schools without networks- For smaller schools without large computer networking and in house servers we have the Filterpak. The filterpak is a filtering method which installs on each users computer and which cannot be turned off or bypassed without the administrator's permission.

Schools with networks - For larger schools and school systems with networking, we have the Centipede WebFilter which is a hardware solution.  The WebFilter includes fully customizable filtering, reporting, time management and a host of other features. This product works with networks from 10 to 5,000 computers.

How Does S4F Filter?    The FilterPak and FilterCube rely largely on a massive list of categorized websites. This list is maintained on the list server and updated constantly by using an intelligent “spider” to search the Internet and add undesirable sites to the list, and by using human review to make judgment calls where necessary.

To further enhance the filtering power of the FilterPak and FilterCube (school filtering software), intelligent keywords are used in the pornography category to catch obvious pornographic URLs and prevent search engines from searching for offensive terms. The intelligent part of the search improves the accuracy of the filter by allowing words like " Middlesex , England " and "breast cancer" while disallowing words like "sex" and "breast". Though the filtering does not rely exclusively on keywords, they do enhance the blocked-site list, providing a real "one-two punch" in fighting online abuse.

FilterPak
The FilterPak is an Internet filter, reporting, and accountability program. It works with any ISP, including AOL, Cable, and DSL. The FilterPak uses URL lists and

 intelligent keywords. The Reporting feature allows the administrator to monitor what each user is viewing. The FilterPak has 23 categories of filtering and each user can have different filtering levels. The FilterPak cannot be modified or uninstalled except by the administrator of the account, which has full administrative control. This type of security ensures that users cannot bypass the filter. The FilterPak operates in the background of the system, much like a virus protection program.
